Some business Ideas! If you are stuck!!! – by Manoj Kanala

Freelancing category!!
  • Do you think Freelancer does only stick to IT or digital services! I don’t think so. I had been thinking through many options other than these streams and have started some too (of which some didn’t suit me). You got to read this before even you get into the list.
Non-techy niches?
  • As many out there, I too wanted to start with Fiverr & Upwork as I wanted to work with my IT skills. But later, I decided to check on other areas that I am passionate about! Also wanted to stay away from technical while choosing them
  • Some may see them as business or side hustles, but for me I put them into freelancing as I am not actually working for any one while providing these services. would be my own boss, with a client to work with.
  • It was a journey while I wanted to try to get these opportunities. It needed lot of courage for me to come out of my typical IT techie/managerial mindset to start something which are not of my expertise!!
  • While I am still amateur (but dived) in some of the areas, I actually couldn’t dive further into others.
  • Without any further due, here are the list that I had been looking into and you may want to give them a shot πŸ™‚
  • I shall also give my status on these areas of where I am on them today
Finally here’s the list:
  • Any one can try these as a hobby as well!
    • Voices freelancing – Book Narrator, Story telling (Storytel Voice, Voquent.com, Amazon ACX (Audible), Voices, KukuFM, Prathilipi FM). I did give audition for Prathilipi FM, but no answer in spite of couple of follow-ups. Might be I am bad with my voice πŸ™‚ However still keeping hold of it and wanna try again. You don’t need to actually work like in a job in some of these.
    • Excel services (connected with IT a bit, but not very technical) – Started some services and served especially for some non-IT business owners who needed help in tracking the data & reporting! (Check the excel services page if lookinng for any)
    • Digital Marketing – Wanted to be in it to learn how we can digitalize our skills/products to serve audience and at the same time monetize.
      • Even this blogging falls into this category.
      • Did a little affiliates as well for the tools I personally use for free lancing (check the freelancing apps post if interested).
    • Copywriting – I certainly wanted to do this as I am passionate about writing. Name it for blog, film scripts, emails (long emails in profession πŸ™‚ ), Ads etc.. This journey just started as a side hustle for Ads & Email-copy writing, learnt that my skills has to be improved further to hook the audience by just writing without boring the audience.. After all, my lifetime mantra that I always believe is “Learning is a continous process”
    • UGC (User Generated Content) making – Similar to Ads, but doesn’t need to be very professional. Gives a feel of ground level credibility to the Ads. This is becoming popula these days. Kind of related to affiliate marketing.
    • Affiliate Marketing – Started a bit, but this is my target. Per my roadmap, Digital Marketing is one of the stepping stones for this.
    • Zoom car – After a struggle of 3months for planning and execution, was able to deploy a car into Zoom car. It’s going good so far with some monetisation (can be called as small business!)

Make sure to comment if any ideas at your end and if you agree that all of these are under freelancing! If you have reached till here, wanted to convey my gratitude for your patience for staying this far!
